Your First Hotel Day Pass: What to Expect
Never booked a day pass? Here is how it works, from choosing between a lounger, daybed or cabana to what to bring and when to arrive.

A hotel day pass gives you access to a hotel's pool, spa or fitness center for the day, without booking a room. If it is your first time, here is what the day looks like.
Choosing your pass
- Day pass: pool access and a lounge chair. Seating is often first come, first served.
- Daybed: a larger, shaded spot for one or two people.
- Cabana: a private, shaded space for a small group, often with dedicated service.
- Spa pass: access to spa facilities such as the sauna, steam room and relaxation lounge.
Every listing on Dayaxe shows exactly what is included, so read the details before you book.
Before you go
Read the hotel's rules
Check-in times, age policies, guest limits and outside food rules are different at every property. You will find them on the listing.
What to bring
- Photo ID for check-in
- Swimsuit and sandals
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat
- A card for food and drinks at the pool
Towels are usually provided. If they are not, the listing will tell you.

On the day
Check in with your confirmation
Bring your booking confirmation and ID. Check in where your confirmation tells you, usually the front desk or the pool attendant, and staff will show you to your spot.
Arrive early on weekends
Weekend and holiday afternoons are the busiest. Arriving close to opening time gives you the best choice of seating.
Enjoy the hotel like a guest
Order lunch by the pool, book a treatment, or stay for a drink at the bar. Many hotels welcome day guests at their restaurants and bars too.
